Alexandra Knie, born in 1984 in Mechernich, Germany, lives and works in Valencia (Spain) and near Cologne (Germany). She studied Fine Art at the Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences in Alfter/Bonn (Germany) and supplemented her studies with painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Genoa (Italy) and textile design, art and humanities at the University of Paderborn (Germany). She is particularly interested in the artistic exploration of the intersection between art, craft and science. She has worked in painting, drawing, screen printing and textile techniques, particularly machine embroidery.
